A <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> October 2 , 1975 rage <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 - Consideration of Subcommittees for General <br /> Assignments : Appointment was confirmed of Mrs . Poncia to <br /> serve as liaison with the Downtown Action Committee . She <br /> will attend their regular meetings . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Attendance at California Arts Council Seminar , <br /> at Concord Pavilion , Concord : Unfortunately no one can attend . <br /> REPORTS ; <br /> 1 . Ars . Poncia said the merchants had voted to contribute <br /> 02 , 500 toward the cost of installing a downtown foun - <br /> tain . An agreement is being prepared by the City for <br /> acceptance of a fountain sculpture by Mr . Robert <br /> Nissen . <br /> 2 . Mrs . Poncia said the selection of blue tiles was <br /> deferred to the Commission . She worked with Mr . r red <br /> Sennewald , Deputy Director of Public Works , on this , <br /> and she showed a sample of the tile which was chosen. <br /> 3 . Mrs . Poncia suggested to the Downtown Merchants that <br /> items might be available from the fire Department ' s <br /> Historical Collection for display in downtown store <br /> windows . <br /> 4 . Mr . weeks reported that the study prepared by mr . <br /> Moulton regarding historical preservation was deemed <br /> inadequate by the Building Department . The City is <br /> now attempting to prepare ordinances that will facili - <br /> tate this effort . <br /> 5 . Action on preservation of the County Courthouse is <br /> presently postponed until the City Historical Preser- <br /> vation Ordinance is adopted . <br /> 6 . i"ir . Bob Philiponi , of the Downtown Action Committee , <br /> will be glad to work with the Commission on the <br /> potential uses of the iox Theater or Sequoia Hi °h <br /> School Auditorium . <br /> 7 . Mrs . Kennedy checked with Mr . Chester Hefner in the <br /> Elementary Schools office and found that Redwood City <br /> History is included in two different sections : 1 ) <br /> " Friends and Neighbors " in 1st and 2nd Grades , and <br />
