A CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting October 2 , 1975 rage AGENDA ITEM 1 - Consideration of Subcommittees for General Assignments : Appointment was confirmed of Mrs . Poncia to serve as liaison with the Downtown Action Committee . She will attend their regular meetings . AGENDA ITEM 2 - Attendance at California Arts Council Seminar , at Concord Pavilion , Concord : Unfortunately no one can attend . REPORTS ; 1 . Ars . Poncia said the merchants had voted to contribute 02 , 500 toward the cost of installing a downtown foun - tain . An agreement is being prepared by the City for acceptance of a fountain sculpture by Mr . Robert Nissen . 2 . Mrs . Poncia said the selection of blue tiles was deferred to the Commission . She worked with Mr . r red Sennewald , Deputy Director of Public Works , on this , and she showed a sample of the tile which was chosen. 3 . Mrs . Poncia suggested to the Downtown Merchants that items might be available from the fire Department ' s Historical Collection for display in downtown store windows . 4 . Mr . weeks reported that the study prepared by mr . Moulton regarding historical preservation was deemed inadequate by the Building Department . The City is now attempting to prepare ordinances that will facili - tate this effort . 5 . Action on preservation of the County Courthouse is presently postponed until the City Historical Preser- vation Ordinance is adopted . 6 . i"ir . Bob Philiponi , of the Downtown Action Committee , will be glad to work with the Commission on the potential uses of the iox Theater or Sequoia Hi °h School Auditorium . 7 . Mrs . Kennedy checked with Mr . Chester Hefner in the Elementary Schools office and found that Redwood City History is included in two different sections : 1 ) " Friends and Neighbors " in 1st and 2nd Grades , and
