However, the Downtown Associa tion is not willing <br /> to spend more -than �2,5D0. Mr. Buickerood suggested that we might <br /> explore the possibility of securing funds from some outside source <br /> to assist in the funding of this pro�ect. Mr. Vollmayer suggested <br /> tha t the Downtown Merchants' Association would be an appropriate <br /> group to handle this. <br /> AGEND� ITEM 4 - Are Two Meetin�s per Month Necessar.y3 <br /> It was the consensus that one meeting per month is sufficient <br /> with the employment of subcommittees. <br /> REPORTS: <br /> l. Breakawa.y Conference , Bicentennial Committee , etc. <br /> a• Mrs. Kennedy reported that she attended two organizational <br /> meetin�s of the Fair Oaks Community Center 1�lulticultural <br /> Arts Committee. This committee is requesting that the <br /> San i�iateo County Arts Council become the organizational <br /> "umbrella" for the committee. <br /> A 1Kulticultural Bicentennial Committee has also been <br /> formed. <br /> Consideration is being given to the erection of a statue <br /> of Se�iora �lrguello. <br /> Mr. Dan Correa presented a proposal for the painting of <br /> a mural to the i�iulticultural Arts Group and the San Mateo <br /> County Bicentennial Committee , and plans to present it <br /> to the Civic Cultural Commission. The dimensions are <br /> 9' x 30' and the pro�ected cost is �11 ,000. A recent <br /> REDWOOD CITY TRIBUIVE article reported , however, that <br /> t he pro�ect would cost �20,000. i�ir.
