The motion was made by <br /> John Krueger , seconded by l�Iarcia Poncia, and unanimously <br /> passed : <br /> THAT the Commission express to the City Council its <br /> displeasure with the quality of art being proposed <br /> by the Multicultural Arts Committee , I,.A.S.S.O. , and <br /> related groups. We believe the aesthetic quality of <br /> the art being proposed , as we are able to �udge from <br /> photos in vur possession, to be not suitable for <br /> permanent installation in our city. <br /> FURTHER, we a.re cor�cerned �ith thP amount of publicity <br /> wriicr, 3 ,� acconi�anyirl? the presentation of these ar- <br /> ti;>tic ideas , which seems to �ive the impression <br /> that the City government has o1'fered approval of the <br /> plans. � <br /> b. The Dreakaway Conference was most interesting and is <br /> covered in Mrs. Kennedy' s written report. <br /> c. A letter has been received from the Mayor of Annapolis, <br /> Maryland , expressing appreciation of being selected as <br /> Redwood City' s "sister city. " <br /> d. N[rs. Kennedy reported on a meeting of the Inter-service <br /> Council at which it was announced that the Lathrop House <br /> will be open on two .�undays: June 13 and 20. On these <br /> days, the i�edwood City Historical Walk will also be con- <br /> ducted. <br /> Redwood City Day at the County Fair will be Friday, August 5. <br /> OTHER: <br /> l. I�`Larcia Poncia reported that she had spoken with John Keller <br /> at the Fire Department regarding use of the large flag on <br /> a more regular weather-permitting basis. He told her the <br /> main reason it isr_' t flown all the time is that it is not <br /> a fifty-star flag.
