r CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting April 1 , 1976 The meeting was opened by Chairman Robert Buickerood at 7 : 30 , p .m . , in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Robert Buickerood , Chairman; Marcia Poncia , Vice Chairman ; Annette Howitt , Alice Kennedy , and John Krueger . COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Zelda Bergman and Fernando Vega . STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks and Recreation ; Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor ; and Mayfred Dawson , Re- cording Secretary . GUESTS : Priscilla Mosher and Cheryl Stout . MINUTES of the meeting of March 4 were approved as submitted on motion of Alice Kennedy , seconded by Annette Howitt . CORRESPONDENCE : 1 . Announcement of Grand Opening of Red Morton Community Park on Saturday , June 5 . 2 . Letter from the City Clerk requesting that Commissioners whose terms are expiring remain on the Commission until early May . 3 . Minute Order from the City Council indicating that the Spring Arts and Crafts Fair has been approved . 4 . CULTURAL POST and miscellaneous brochures . AGENDA ITEM 1 - Plans for " Youth in Government Da " April 7 , 1976 : Commissioners will meet wit students at t e Community Activities Building at about 8 : 45 , a .m . , for orientation prior to the mock Council meeting . AGENDA ITEM 2 - Arts and Crafts Fair : Mrs . Poncia reported that she had talked with Mrs . Beam , who has prepared radio advertising which will start early in May and run up to show time . Store window posters are ready and counter signs will be prepared . Mr . Vollmayer has requested that a spot be reserved for a library display of historical material . Mrs . Kennedy said that Sequoia High School trios and quartets have agreed to perform and they will stroll throughout the area . Thirty- seven artists are signed up at this time . Local artists will be featured in the REDWOOD CITY TRIBUNE . Mrs . Beam has scheduled a meeting on April 14 for final planning . Mrs . Kennedy has sent notices to various organizations for their calendars .
