r <br /> CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 1 , 1976 <br /> The meeting was opened by Chairman Robert Buickerood at 7 : 30 , p .m . , <br /> in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , <br /> 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Robert Buickerood , Chairman; Marcia <br /> Poncia , Vice Chairman ; Annette Howitt , Alice Kennedy , and <br /> John Krueger . <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Zelda Bergman and Fernando Vega . <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks and Recreation ; <br /> Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor ; and Mayfred Dawson , Re- <br /> cording Secretary . <br /> GUESTS : Priscilla Mosher and Cheryl Stout . <br /> MINUTES of the meeting of March 4 were approved as submitted <br /> on motion of Alice Kennedy , seconded by Annette Howitt . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE : <br /> 1 . Announcement of Grand Opening of Red Morton Community <br /> Park on Saturday , June 5 . <br /> 2 . Letter from the City Clerk requesting that Commissioners <br /> whose terms are expiring remain on the Commission until <br /> early May . <br /> 3 . Minute Order from the City Council indicating that the <br /> Spring Arts and Crafts Fair has been approved . <br /> 4 . CULTURAL POST and miscellaneous brochures . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 - Plans for " Youth in Government Da " April 7 , 1976 : <br /> Commissioners will meet wit students at t e Community Activities <br /> Building at about 8 : 45 , a .m . , for orientation prior to the mock <br /> Council meeting . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Arts and Crafts Fair : Mrs . Poncia reported <br /> that she had talked with Mrs . Beam , who has prepared radio <br /> advertising which will start early in May and run up to show <br /> time . Store window posters are ready and counter signs will <br /> be prepared . Mr . Vollmayer has requested that a spot be <br /> reserved for a library display of historical material . Mrs . <br /> Kennedy said that Sequoia High School trios and quartets have <br /> agreed to perform and they will stroll throughout the area . <br /> Thirty- seven artists are signed up at this time . Local artists <br /> will be featured in the REDWOOD CITY TRIBUNE . Mrs . Beam has <br /> scheduled a meeting on April 14 for final planning . Mrs . Kennedy <br /> has sent notices to various organizations for their calendars . <br />
