CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> November 4 , 1976 <br /> Chairman Marcia Poncia opened the meeting at 7 : 40 p . m . , in the <br /> Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roose - <br /> velt Avenue , Redwood City. <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Marcia Fonda ,i Chairman ; Alice Kennedy , <br /> Kay Mears , Nicole McKay , Zelda Bergman , <br /> and John Krueger <br /> COMMISSIONER ABSENT : Annette Howitt <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks & Recreation <br /> Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor <br /> Mayfred Dawson , Recording Secretary <br /> GUESTS : Government Affairs Program Students : <br /> Tim Anderson , Phil Powell , and Dana Watts <br /> MOTION : Upon motion of John Krueger , seconded by Alice Kennedy , <br /> Minutes of the Meeting of October 7 , 1976 , were approved <br /> as submitted . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 - Report of League of California Cities Conference : <br /> Commissioners Bergman and Krueger gave a very interesting report <br /> on the Conference . They felt that attendance at the conference <br /> was extremely worth while and expressed their appreciation to the <br /> City for sending them . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Committee Assignments for Projects : <br /> 1 . Fountain - Sculpture - Mr . Meeks explained that the City <br /> Council will receive requests for use of the Sidney <br /> Herkner Memorial Fund . He will write a memo to the City <br /> Manager indicating the desire of the Commission to have <br /> a portion of the fund approved for installation of the <br /> fountain- sculpture . <br /> 2 . Arts and Crafts Fair - Chairman Poncia said she had <br /> received a call from Paula Beam inquiring about our <br /> plans for the fair . It was suggested that next year it <br /> might run on Thursday , Friday , and Saturday , rather than <br /> on Saturday and Sunday , and that Sunday might be used <br /> for a juried show including sculpture , ceramics , needle - <br /> work , and other art forms than those juried at the Annual <br /> Flower Shown The following committee was appointed : <br /> Nicole McKay , Alice Kennedy , and Kay Mears . <br />
