CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting November 4 , 1976 Chairman Marcia Poncia opened the meeting at 7 : 40 p . m . , in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roose - velt Avenue , Redwood City. COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Marcia Fonda ,i Chairman ; Alice Kennedy , Kay Mears , Nicole McKay , Zelda Bergman , and John Krueger COMMISSIONER ABSENT : Annette Howitt STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks & Recreation Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor Mayfred Dawson , Recording Secretary GUESTS : Government Affairs Program Students : Tim Anderson , Phil Powell , and Dana Watts MOTION : Upon motion of John Krueger , seconded by Alice Kennedy , Minutes of the Meeting of October 7 , 1976 , were approved as submitted . AGENDA ITEM 1 - Report of League of California Cities Conference : Commissioners Bergman and Krueger gave a very interesting report on the Conference . They felt that attendance at the conference was extremely worth while and expressed their appreciation to the City for sending them . AGENDA ITEM 2 - Committee Assignments for Projects : 1 . Fountain - Sculpture - Mr . Meeks explained that the City Council will receive requests for use of the Sidney Herkner Memorial Fund . He will write a memo to the City Manager indicating the desire of the Commission to have a portion of the fund approved for installation of the fountain- sculpture . 2 . Arts and Crafts Fair - Chairman Poncia said she had received a call from Paula Beam inquiring about our plans for the fair . It was suggested that next year it might run on Thursday , Friday , and Saturday , rather than on Saturday and Sunday , and that Sunday might be used for a juried show including sculpture , ceramics , needle - work , and other art forms than those juried at the Annual Flower Shown The following committee was appointed : Nicole McKay , Alice Kennedy , and Kay Mears .
