r CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION Minutes of Meeting February 5 , 1976 Chairman Robert Buickerood opened the meeting at 7 : 40 , p . m. , in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Robert Buickerood , Chairman Marcia Poncia , /ice Chairman John Krueger Alice Kennedy Zelda Bergman COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Annette Howitt Fernando Vega STAFF PRESENT : Max Meeks , Director of Parics and Recreation Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor Mayfred Dawson , Recording Secretary GUEST : Karl Vollmayer , Librarian MINUTES of the meeting of January 8 were approved as submitted . CORRESPONDENCE : Communication from the California Arts Council indicating the new membership of the Arts Council , various bro - chures , and announcement of the San Francisco Area Combined Bottle Collectors ' Show and Sale to be held February 10 and 11 . The Commission enjoyed a film brought by i" rs . Kennedy : " A View from There , " the story of Redwood City taken and produced by Carol Levene , assisted by Richard Schellens and others . AGENDA ITEM 1 - Arts & Craft Show : Mrs . Poncia reported that a committee meeting had been held with Annette , Zelda , Alice , and herself present . It was decided that square -dance , folk-dance , and strolling musical groups could be included and wine tasting be eliminated from the show . Mrs . Poncia is investigating the possibility of using part of a vacant building for singing groups which would be better heard in an indoor setting . Pars . Kennedy said there are so many activities taking place in May that we might request the Council to declare the month of May as Redwood City ' s Festival Month . In addition to the Arts and Crafts Show , there will be the Cinco de Mayo celebration , the Art and Flower Show , Redwood City Community Theater ' s pro - duction of " 6 Rms Riv Vu , " and bike racing . Mrs . Poncia mentioned that the Downtown lhierchants had requested that the dates for the Arts and Crafts Show be changed to the weekend of May 31 , to coincide with the bike races . After dis - cussion , the consensus of the group was that the dates should be kept as originally planned .
