EORE'tAT I OIC COMMISSION <br /> March 3 , 1977 Page 4 <br /> AGENDA ITEM `s Joint Projects : ( Contsd ) <br /> Commissioner Kennedy mentioned that , as a cultural commission , <br /> the Civic Cultural Commission expects that when cultural projects <br /> for the city are proposed for consideration by the city , the Com- <br /> mission will be consulted . <br /> Commissioner Pound suggested that the Council and Commissions <br /> might get together on an informal weekend seminar , inviting citi - <br /> zen attendances suggesting further that Commissioners seek out <br /> different organizations functioning in their spheres within the <br /> city and become acquaintedd <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Downtown Fountain-Scut + tune <br /> Commissioner Weintraub expressed great interest in the fountain- <br /> sculpture which has been proposed by the Cultural Commission. <br /> Commissioner Anderson suggested that , in view of the potential <br /> water shortage , it be promoted as a sculpture which can be con- <br /> verted to ' a fountain when appropriate , . Commissioner Weintraub <br /> asked that the Civic Cultural Commission give the Parks & Recre - <br /> ation Commission a report on what has been done to date . on this <br /> project , stating that she feels it is a very good project to <br /> pursue jointly and volunteering to meet with a Cultural Commission <br /> committee concerning it . <br /> REPO RTS <br /> 1 . OperaluncrkY <br /> Mrs Weeks said it appears that the cost can be covered <br /> by the budget . <br /> 2 . Downtown Action Committee : <br /> : <br /> Mrs Weeks requested an appointee from each Commission <br /> for a newly activated Downtown Committee which is now <br /> being promoted by the Chamber of Commerce . It will <br /> meet on Nednesday mornings at 8 a . m . , in the City <br /> Manager ' s office . Members of the committee will be <br /> appointed by the Chamber of Commerce . <br /> Joanne Weintraub will attend for Parks & Recreation <br /> and Nicole McKay for the Civic Cultural Commissions <br />
