CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 7 , 1977 <br /> The meeting was opened by Chairman Marcia Poncia at 7 : 45 , p . m . , <br /> in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , <br /> 1400 Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City . <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Marcia Poncia , Chairman ; Zelda Bergman , <br /> Kay Mears , and John Krueger <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Annette Howitt and Nicole McKay <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks & Recreation <br /> Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor <br /> Mayfred Dawson , Recording Secretary <br /> GUEST PRESENT : Mr . Karl Volimayer , Redwood City Librarian <br /> MOTION : On motion of Zelda Bergman , seconded by John Krueger , <br /> Minutes of the meeting of March 3 were approved as <br /> submitted . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE : 1 . Invitation from the San Mateo County Arts <br /> Council to the Gallery Reception at Twin <br /> Pines Cultural Arts Center on April 17 . <br /> 2b Letter from Marlene Thirkelsen Dance <br /> Company announcing formation of an or- <br /> ganization to promote dance on the <br /> Peninsula . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 - Downtown Sculpture - Fountain : <br /> Mr . Weeks reported that he had talked with Mrs . Diane Pound , <br /> Chairman of the Parks & Recreation Commission , regarding partici - <br /> pation of that Commission with the Civic Cultural Commission on <br /> this project and he believed it would be discussed at the next <br /> Parks & Recreation Commission meeting . He suggested that a joint <br /> committee from the two commissions might be appointed to develop <br /> a plan to promote support for the project . Chairman Poncia ap- <br /> pointed John Krueger , Chairman ; Kay Mears , and Alice Kennedy to <br /> this committee . Mr . Weeks suggested that the committee should <br /> attempt to develop a " blue ribbon " list of persons who might be <br /> willing to contribute to the project , and that the Chamber of <br /> Commerce and the Downtown Merchants ' Association be invited to <br /> send a representative to the organizational meeting . <br />
