CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> April 7 , 1977 Page 2 <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Li. b rare Mural : <br /> Mr . Vollmayer said he had contacted Jean Nixon , the artist <br /> working on a concept for the mural . She has made some progress <br /> on it . She wants to put her design on a canvas about one third <br /> of the size of the completed mural . She believes this will be <br /> ready to show the Commission at the May meeting . She under- <br /> stands that her design will need to have approval of. the Council . <br /> She will plan to be at the Commission ' s May meeting at about <br /> 8 : 30 , p . m . It was suggested that the Library Board be invited <br /> to the May meeting to see Miss Nixon ' s sketch° <br /> AGENDA ITEM 3 - Critique of the Combined Meeting with Parks & <br /> Recreation Commission : <br /> It was the consensus that the combined meeting with the Parks & <br /> Recreation Commission was very successful . <br /> REPORTS : <br /> 1 . Operalunch : <br /> Flyers were given out for distribution and Mr . Weeks <br /> said chairs would be set up at the site , which will <br /> be the area of Hamilton and Broadway. This project <br /> is ready to goo <br /> 2 . quilting Show : <br /> The show will be held June 18 and 19 . Sally Hartman <br /> said they will need hostesses and would like to have <br /> the Commissioners assist with this , as well as with <br /> assembly and disassembly of the show . Applications <br /> for entrants will be ready about May 1 . Announcements <br /> were given out for distribution . <br /> 3 . Arts & Crafts Show - May 5 , 6 , and 7 : <br /> Max reported , in Alice Kennedy ' s absence , that plans <br /> are being finalized and no problems are being experi - <br /> enced . <br /> 4 . California Arts Council Meeting : <br /> Chairman Poncia reported on the meeting ° She said <br /> that Clark Mitze , of the California Arts Council , <br />
