In the past , <br /> once a painting was sold , the artist lost control <br /> over it , but now he will be entitled to receive a <br /> royalty from subsequent sales if the painting is <br /> registered . <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS : <br /> 1 . John Krueger announced that the San Mateo County <br /> Symphony Orchestra will perform April 22 and 24 - <br /> a <br /> at Canada College on Friday at 8 : 15 , p . m . , and <br /> College of San Mateo at 3 : 00 on Sunday° <br /> 2 . Commissioner Krueger also announced that there will <br /> be a High School Band and Orchestra Festival at <br /> Canada on April 30. <br /> 3 . 18th Biennial California Writers ' Conference , an- <br /> nounced by Commissioner Kennedy , will be held July 8 , <br /> 9 , 10 , 1977 , at Stanford University. <br /> OTHER : <br /> Mr . weeks suggested that the Commission give some thought <br /> to sponsoring a youth- oriented juried fine arts show for <br /> high school and junior college age which could be put on <br /> in the fall . <br /> ADJOURNMENT : <br /> There being no further business , the meeting was adjourned <br /> at 9 : 50 , p . m . <br /> MARCIA PONCIA , Chairman <br />
