'CIVIC CULTURAL COMMISSION <br /> Minutes of Meeting <br /> May 5 , 1977 <br /> The Chairman and Vice Chairman were absent ° Therefore , the meeting <br /> was opened by Max weeks , Parks & Recreation Director , at 7 : 45 , p . m . , <br /> in the Conference Room of the Community Activities Building , 1400 <br /> Roosevelt Avenue , Redwood City, <br /> COMMISSIONERS PRESENT : Kay Mears ., Zelda Bergman , Annette Howitt , <br /> Alice Kennedy , Nicole McKay <br /> COMMISSIONERS ABSENT : Marcia Poncia , John Krueger ( Mr. Krueger <br /> arrived at 8 : 33 , p . m . ) <br /> STAFF PRESENT : Max Weeks , Director of Parks & Recreation <br /> Sally Hartman , Recreation Supervisor <br /> GUEST PRESENT : Mr . Karl Vollmayer , Redwood City Librarian <br /> MOTION : On motion of Zelda Bergman , seconded by Nicole McKay , the <br /> minutes of the meeting of April 7 , 1977 , were approved <br /> , as submitted . <br /> CORRESPONDENCE : 1 , Invitation to the 18th Annual Spring Flower <br /> and Art Show Judges Luncheon on Saturday , <br /> May 14 , at 11 : 30 , a . m . It was pointed out <br /> that reservations were necessary by May 10 . <br /> In order to accommodate the presentation by Miss Jean Nixon , Agenda <br /> Item No . 2 was moved up on the agenda and was considered as the <br /> first order of business . <br /> AGENDA ITEM 2 - Review of Committee Assignments : <br /> It was pointed out that Chairman Marcia Poncia wished to discuss <br /> the committee format for the Commission and , due to her absence , <br /> it was suggested that this item be carried over to the next Com- <br /> mission meeting . The Commission concurred with this suggestion ° <br /> AGENDA ITEM 1 - Presentation by Miss Jean Nixon of Proposed Library <br /> Mural <br /> Miss Jean Nixon was again introduced to the Commission , after which <br /> she began her presentation concerning the status of the proposed <br /> mural to be placed in the patio area between the library annd City <br /> Hallo Miss Nixon briefed the Commission on the approach she was <br /> taking in regard to the mural and her progress toward preparing <br /> a one - third size canvas painting of the mural for consideration <br /> by the Commission and the Library Board ° The mural will depict <br />
