Box 295 , Redwood City • <br /> ,Kathy Mahaney , 1026 Vera Avenue , Redwood City <br /> Ken Rowe , Redwood City Tribune <br /> In the absence of Mayor Paul Keckley and Vice-Miayor Mary Henderson , Councilman <br /> Bob Norris called the meeting to order at 7 : 10 A .M . <br /> ANNOUNCEItENTS <br /> Housing Aide Ransom announced that , as suggested by Mary, Henderson and Fred <br /> Soderer at the last HCC meeting, recommendations concerning "where to go next" <br /> about racial discrimination in rental housing would be made at the next HCC <br /> meeting , And Avi ripen insula Citizens for Fair Housing would be present . He said <br /> that the Palo Alto ordinance reg&lating the management of apartment complexes <br /> had been completed and MCFH wished to introduce it to the Committee . <br /> Dave Ransom also reported that, upon receipt of a list of persons responsible <br /> for apartments of three units or more in Redwor City , the Tri-County Apartment <br /> Association has scheduled a meeting concerning fair housing for Redwood City <br /> apartment owners on October 18 . The meeting will be at the American Legion <br /> Hall , 651 El Camino Real , at 7 : 30 p .m . <br /> Dave Ransom distributed copies of a memorandum from the City Manager concerning <br /> "Necessary Research Re : Future Activities of the Housing Concerns Committee . " <br /> City Manager Pales noted that he had requested comments and suggestions concerning <br /> the memorandum . Bob Norris suggested that that be a part of the Committee ' s next <br /> agenda . <br /> HOUSING E13lMENT <br /> Dave Ransom distributed conies of a "Schedule of Work for Housing Elements' , the <br /> primary part of which was a working outline for the Housing Element based on <br /> State guidelines and the proposed County Housing Element . <br /> He pointed out that State guidelines require the City ' s Housing Element to cover <br /> three major topics : "Problem, " "Obstacles , " and "The Housing Program. " The <br /> "Problems" section is tq,include inventories of existing units , of potential <br /> units , and of existing sites , as well as detailed population characteristics <br /> and estimates of housing need .
