Box 295 , Ikedwood City ° <br /> • <br /> • Mary Davey and Joellyn Murphy , MCFH ' <br /> Lacking a quorum, Chairman Keckley convened the meeting as a study session <br /> at •7 : 15 A. M. <br /> • <br /> ANNOUNCEMENTS . . <br /> Housing Aide Ransom announced that the City Council had unanimously approved <br /> the Housing Concerns Committee ' s statement to the hearings being conducted <br /> by the Assembly Judiciary Committee on the "Uniform Residential Landlord and <br /> Tenant Act . " <br /> He also announced that the Tri-County Apartment Association was holding a <br /> public meeting on October 18 at 7 : 30 P. M . at the American Legion Hall , <br /> 651 El Camino Real . One topic of the meeting would be fair housing laws . <br /> Tri -County had mailed announcements of the meeting and a resume of the Mid- <br /> peninsula Citizens for. Fair Housing audit results , along with a pamphlet on <br /> the fair housing laws , to all Redwood City apartment owners or managers of <br /> three units or more , he said . <br /> A SECOND AUDIT <br /> City Manager Fales asked if the Committee had taken further action on the <br /> suggestions made in his memorandum to the Committee on fair housing . Any action <br /> to be taken should be done before next year ' s budget is drawn up , he said . Work <br /> on the budget begins in January . He reminded the Committee that one suggestion <br /> in the memorandum was that a second audit be done . <br /> Chairman Keckley asked if the $2000 estimate for the audit was realistic . The <br /> Manager said that the sum would cover the office costs and research of MCFH. <br /> The Mayor said that it would probably not be too long before the City had its <br /> own audit procedure . <br /> That was good , Joellyn Murphy said . MCFH would like nothing better than to be <br /> able to go out of business , she said . In fact, it was having a board meeting <br /> to decide whether or, not to go on with auditing . MCFH was questioning its <br /> utility . A re-audit df Palo Alto had shown that the overall discrimination rate <br /> was less than before , she said .
