7.1.C. - Page 2 Based on a thorough review of the proposals, Staff recommends approval of the attached agreements with TJKM Transportation Consultants, Kimley-Horn and Associates, and Bellecci & Associates, in the amounts of $200,000, $200,000, and $250,000 respectively. All of the proposed contracts are for two years. The proposed contracts also allow for time extensions (if necessary) and up to a ten percent increase in contract value. The contract amounts have been set based on the expected work load and demand for various types of assistance. All of the contracts are written such that services are rendered as directed by the City for specific project or programmatic needs. Consultants will be requested to provide services when a need arises and paid for the time spent on providing those services. The City is not obligated to engage the consultants for any specific amount of time or dollar amount. ALTERNATIVES 1. The Council may choose not to approve the agreements and direct staff to seek proposals for the work from other consulting firms. 2. The Council may choose not to approve the agreements and direct staff to initiate a process to hire temporary or permanent staff to perform the desired activities. FISCAL IMPACT Work will be billed to eligible grants for specific projects, as allowed. When work isn't project funded, it will be financed primarily from the Gas Tax Construction Fund (263) or as appropriate, the Traffic Mitigation Fees Fund (285). As of November 30, 2014, the Gas Tax Construction Fund had a balance of $6,796,675 and the Traffic Mitigation Fees Fund had a balance of$3,912,201.
