Attend one pre-construction conference and answer questions <br /> regarding construction documents. <br /> ii. Review of more than two (2) submittals appropriate professional <br /> action on laboratory. shop and mill tests, reports of equipment <br /> performance, shop drawings, samples, and any other <br /> submissions of the Contractor for conformance with the design <br /> concept of the project and for compliance with the construction <br /> contract documents. <br /> iii. Review, analyze and make recommendations on all value <br /> engineering proposal submitted by the Contractor or the owner. <br /> iv. Make site visits once every two weeks (field consultation during <br /> construction) or as requested by the City, to become familiar <br /> with the progress and quality of construction, and to ensure that <br /> the work is proceeding in accordance with the contract <br /> documents. Consultant shall submit visit records to the City <br /> after each visit. Consultant shall endeavor to guard the City <br /> against defects and deficiencies in the work of the Contractor. <br /> Consultant shall make appropriate recommendations for City's <br /> actions. Consultant shall not be responsible for construction <br /> means, methods, techniques, sequences, procedures, or for <br /> safety precautions and programs in connection with the work, <br /> and shall not be responsible for the Contractor's failure to carry <br /> out the work in accordance with the contract documents. <br /> v. Conduct final review to assess that the work has been <br /> completed in accordance with the contract documents. <br /> c. Fixed and/or Reimbursable - For the following two articles, the <br /> determination of responsibility will be made in consultation with the <br /> City,.Architect and the Construction Manager: <br /> i. Review and approve all requests for change orders and provide <br /> " recommendation to the City on the merit of the change order. <br /> >- For Changes outside the consultant's responsibility the <br /> City will pay the consultant accordingly as a reimbursable <br /> item. <br /> -13- <br />
