Contract Amendment 01 R
December 22, 2005
Revised Jalluary 17, 2006
Redwood Shores Community Library

This Agreement between Anderson Brulé Architects, Inc. and the City of Redwood City is
evidenced by the authorizing signatures below. Please sign and return this agreement for
execution.

~.
~1/17 IOf¡;

Pamela Anderson-Brulé Date
President

Client

Date

NOTES REGARDING SCOPE:

Civil
. Eliminate turf block that defines donut @ round about
. Use asphalt concrete in lieu of concrete for walks - Could have been AC to begin with. Will now
require revisions to our detail sheet - minor but nevertheless will take some time. Will there now be a
need for redwood headers to hold the AC in during construction? Will the sidewalks along Bridge and
Marine still be concrete?
. Eliminate stone pavers at left turn lane
. Use pavers at bldg approaches - Will require additions to the detail sheet. Will landscape select the
paver type and spec it in their specifications?
. Review and revise number of catch basins

Landscape
. Change tree size from 24" box to 15 gallon
. Eliminate site furnishings
. Remove landscape posts - aesthetic
. Review quantity of planting
. Use 4" decomposed granite in lieu of2"
. Use city-furnished mulch for standard mulch
. Review cost of crushed shell mulch
. Review extent of irrigation
. Delete some specific paths to library (include lighting), leaving only required paths

Mechanical
. Resize the condenser water pumps from two pumps of 100% capacity to two pumps at 50% capacity
each. The original design was following the owner's design criteria for redundancy for the system.
The redesign is an owner-directed change following a reconsideration of redundancy expectation
levels. The construction savings are much higher than the redesign fee therefore the revision is cost
effective.
. Reduce the number of Fan powered variable air boxes and reheat coils in the interior areas. The
original design was for a close temperature control of the interior zones. The redesign is owner
directed revision to lower the construction budget. The construction savings are much higher than the
redesign fee therefore the revision is cost effective.
