TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN 7.2.A. - Page 24 <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE IAFF LOCAL 2400 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> Section 12 - Station Bidding <br /> The bidding procedure presently in effect shall continue during the term of this MOU unless <br /> • • - - - - . • . _ • - . .. • for 2014 shall continue during the term <br /> of the MOU, unless the parties mutually agree to modify the procedure. <br /> 15.1 Resignation <br /> An employee wishing to leave the service in good standing shall file with the Fire Chief a <br /> notice of intention to leave the service. The written resignation shall state the effective date <br /> and reasons for I aving. The resignation shall be forwarded to the Human Resources <br /> Department with a statement by the Fire Chief as to the resigned employee's service <br /> performance and other pertinent information concerning the cause of resignation. <br /> 15.2 Reinstatement <br /> At the discretion of the Fire Chief and Personnel Officer, aA regular employee who has <br /> resigned in good standing may be reinstated to a vacant position of the same class at <br /> his /her previous position within a period of one (1) year from the effective date of his /her <br /> resignation. Reinstatement shall be made at the salary step recommended by the Fire Chief <br /> and approved by the Human Resources DirectorPersonnel Officer, no lower than the salary <br /> step held at the time the employee left City employment. <br /> A regular employee who is reinstated within thirty (30) working days of leaving City <br /> employment shall be reinstated as if he /she had been on an unpaid leave of absence. Any <br /> benefits which were cashed out shall be reinstated if the employee elects to buy back such <br /> benefits. <br /> The reinstated employee will serve the designated probationary period for that <br /> classification prior to becoming a regular employee, regardless of the salary step at which <br /> the employee was reinstated. <br /> 16.3 Break in Service <br /> Service with the City for the purpose of calculating seniority shall be terminated by <br /> discharge, resignation, refusal by an employee to accept a reassignment to a related <br /> classification, twelve (12) consecutive months of unemployment, one (1) year on a rehire <br /> list, or the refusal by an employee on the rehire list to report to a rehire assignment made <br /> by the City. <br /> 16A Benefits During Layoff <br /> During the one (1) year on a rehire list, the employee shall not accrue any benefits, <br /> including, but not limited to, vacation, sick leave, holidays, medical, dental, life insurance <br /> and uniform allowance. Any employee reemployed from the rehire list shall retain return to <br /> all vacation and sick leave accrual raters that the employee did not receive compensation <br /> for at the time of layoff for which the employee was eligible at the time of layoff. <br /> Page 20 of 20 <br />
