7.2.A. - Page 27 TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE IAFF LOCAL 2400 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> the City's expense to be performed by a doctor designated by the City, before the employee <br /> is permitted to return to work. <br /> Sick leave shall be defined as the non -job related absence from work due to illness, bodily <br /> injury, exposure to contagious disease requiring the employee's absence (which the City <br /> may require a doctor's certificate to verify), and caring of family members whose illness <br /> requires the worker's care. For the purposes of this section, immediate family means <br /> spouse, domestic partner, child, stepchild, or parent. <br /> 18.1.6 Procedures for Requesting and Approving Sick Leave <br /> Employees are responsible for notifying the Battalion Chiefs office of any inability to report <br /> to duty prior to the commencement of their work shift. Shift employees shall notify the <br /> Battalion Chiefs office prior to 0700 hours of the day the employee is to be absent and shall . <br /> enter the leave into the Department's automated scheduling software. Non -shift employees <br /> shall notify their immediate supervisor by 0815 hours.
