TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN 7.2.A. - Page 28 <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE IAFF LOCAL 2400 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> of his or her scheduled work hours in the pay period - when added to the number of hours <br /> already worked - shall not exceed the number of hours in the employee's regular schedule <br /> for that period. <br /> 18.3 Limited -Light Duty Work During Pregnancy <br /> 18.3.1 An employee who is pregnant shall report her condition after diagnosis is made, and <br /> she is so instructed by her physician, to her immediate supervisor, shift Battalion Chief. or <br /> the Personnel Officer. <br /> 18.3.2 In the instance that pregnancy is confirmed, the employee has the following options: <br /> 18.3.2.1 A pregnancy-he employee may work light duty (an assignment wherein the <br /> employee is not performing the essential functions of the job with or without <br /> accommodation) if her attending physician determines light duty to be appropriate, or if the <br /> employee so desires. If the attending physician recommends light duty, the employee will <br /> need to have her physician fill out a work status rcportshall obtain a list of work restrictions <br /> from her physician. It is the employee's responsibility to insure that the work status report <br /> is completedwork restrictions are obtained fromby the physician and returned promptly to <br /> r . . - he Personnel Officer. <br /> arned vacation leave if her physician certifies that she is unable to perform her full or light <br /> duty work. <br /> 18.3.2.42 The employee may work an alternate light duty schedule (i.e., a 40 -hour <br /> week at 8 -hours per day or 10 -hours per day). During this alternative assignment the <br /> employee shall be entitled to a one -hour lunch during her work hours. Additionally, the <br /> employee shall be allowed to participate in a one -hour work -out during her work hours as <br /> specified in the Ops Manual. <br /> 18.3.3 During light duty, the employee may take earned leave time for any doctors <br /> appointments, or may flex their work hours to accommodate doctor appointments and <br /> Department needs, subject to mutual agreement by the employee and the Fire Chief. <br /> Flexing work hours shall not result in overtime. <br /> 18.3.4 Employee will not lose seniority or permanent station assignments clue to light duty <br /> assignment. <br /> 18.3.3 During Tight duty, the employee may take eharned Iciave time for any doctor °:, <br /> appointments. <br /> 18.3.5 Employees eligible to take a promotional exam will be allowed to participate in the <br /> examination, provided the employee's physician certifies in writing that the employee is <br /> physically capable of participating in the exam process. The Department will not be <br /> responsible for conducting any additional exams in order to accommodate employees who <br /> are unable to participate in the process. <br /> Page 24 of 24 <br />
