TENTATIVE AGREEMENT BETWEEN 7.2.A. - Page 6 <br /> CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND <br /> SAN MATEO COUNTY FIRE TAFF LOCAL 24 00 <br /> RE: SUCCESSOR MOU <br /> 1. TERM: Four year term (January 1, 2014 - December 31, 2017) <br /> 2. COST OF LIVING ADJUSTMENT: <br /> 7.2 Salaries <br /> c shall heThe City will conduct salary surveys armed annually_ by thosota <br /> include factors traditionally taken into consideration in the determination of wages, <br /> hours and other terms and conditions of public and private employment including, but <br /> not limited to, changes in the average Consumer Price Index for goods and services, the <br /> wages, hours and other terms or conditions of employment of other employees <br /> performing similar services, and the financial condition of the City. <br /> The following cities and districts are to be surveyed: Alameda, Berkeley, Daly City, <br /> Menlo Park Fire Protection District, Mountain View, Palo Alto, Richmond, Milpitas, San <br /> Mateo, San Ramon Valley Fire Protection District, Santa Clara, Belmont San Carlos, and <br /> South San Francisco. These agencies shall not be changed except by mutual consent of <br /> the parties. <br /> The survey conducted by the Human Resources Department, shall be updated and <br /> completed by November 1 of each year during the term of the MOU. <br /> Salaries shall be calculated byThe survey for Fire Fighters /Engineers shall compareing <br /> the total compensation rates of Fire Fighter /Engineers in Redwood City to the median <br /> of total compensation rates of Fire Engineers, or in the absence thereof, to the median of <br /> total compensation rates of Fire Fighters, in the cities specified above. The survey for <br /> Deputy Fire Marshal shall compare the total compensation rates of Depute <br /> Marshals in Redwood City to the median of total compensation rates of Deputy Fire <br /> Marshals, or in the absence thereof, to the median of total compensation rates of Fire <br /> Inspectors 11 or III. or classifications performing substantially the same duties. The <br /> comparative calculation shall include top step base salary, employer paid member PERS <br /> contribution, maximum city paid medical contribution, longevity pay, holiday pay, <br /> uniform allowance, paramedic assistance pay, EMT pay, and educational incentive. <br /> In the event one or more of the above listed comparative cities is in labor negotiations <br /> due to the expiration of their labor MOU and does not have salary data available as of <br /> November 1 of each year, the total compensation factor for those cities shall be equal to <br /> the Consumer Price Index for all Urban Consumers for the San Francisco /San Jose area <br /> for the preceding fiscal year. This factor shall be no less than 3% nor greater than 6% <br /> should the C.P.I. fall below or exceed these percentages. <br /> Upon the City's completion of the 2015 Fire Prevention Officer survey, the City and <br /> Association will meet to discuss the results of the survey. <br /> Effective - - .. . _ _ - : January 13, 2014, 2010 (01/01/10), there <br /> will be no a one percent (1 %) salary increase for either the classification of Fire <br /> Fighter /Engineer or Fire Captainall classifications represented by the bargaining unit. <br /> Page 2 of 2 <br />
