3.0 Environmental Impact Checklist <br /> project would not create a hazard to the public or environment through the accidental release of <br /> hazardous materials and impacts are less than significant. No mitigation is necessary. <br /> c) Emit hazardous emissions or handle hazardous or acutely hazardous materials,substances, <br /> or waste within 0.25 miles of an existing or proposed school? <br /> Less-than-Significant Impact. St.Pius Elementary School and the Thumbelina Nursery School <br /> are located within a quarter-mile of the project site. Project construction would utilize small <br /> quantities of hazardous materials such as vehicle fuels and lubricants, but the applicant would <br /> comply with applicable hazardous materials regulations to minimize the risk of spills or <br /> contamination. The project is a residential development and would not handle hazardous <br /> materials, substances, or wastes post-construction. Impacts would be less than significant. <br /> d) Be located on a site that is included on a list of hazardous materials sites compiled <br /> pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5 and, as a result,create a significant hazard to <br /> the public or the environment? <br /> No Impact.The project site is currently developed with three single-family residences. No <br /> known hazardous materials are currently being used, stored, or disposed of on or adjacent to <br /> the project site.The project site is not located on a Iist of hazardous materials sites compiles <br /> pursuant to Government Code Section 65962.5. <br /> e) For a project located within an airport land use plan or,where such a plan has not been <br /> adopted,within 2 miles of a public airport or public use airport,result in a safety hazard for <br /> people residing or working in the program area? <br /> f) For a project located within the vicinity of a private airstrip,result in a safety hazard for <br /> people residing or working in the program area? <br /> No Impact. The project is not located within an airport land use plan or within the vicinity of a <br /> public airport or private airstrip. The San Carlos Airport, the closest airstrip to the project area, <br /> i is located approximately 3.5 miles northwest of the project site.Due to the distance from the <br /> I most proximate airstrip to the project area, aircraft over-flights would not pose a safety hazard <br /> to people residing or working in the project area. <br /> Eg) Impair implementation of or physically interfere with an adopted emergency response <br /> plan or emergency evacuation plan? <br /> No Impact.The project would not change the access of local streets and highways within the <br /> project vicinity. The project would not create structures that would impede or obstruct an <br /> emergency response plan or evacuation plan.There would be no impact. <br /> h) Expose people or structures to a significant risk of loss,injury, or death involving <br /> wildland fires,including where wildlands are adjacent to urbanized areas or where <br /> residences are intermixed with wildlands? <br /> No Impact.
