3.0 Environmental Impact Checklist
Mitigation Measure NOI-2: The following construction noise control measures shall be
implemented to limit the amount of noise generated during the construction period:
a) Limit construction to daytime hours(8 AM to 5 PM)Monday through Friday,
with no construction activities on weekends or holidays per Section 24.32 of the
City of Redwood Municipal Code.
i,) Construction activities or equipment shall not generate noise levels exceeding 110
dBA per Section 24.31 of the City of Redwood Municipal Code.
c) Utilize"quiet" models of air compressors and other stationary noise sources
where technology exists.
d) Prohibit unnecessary idling of internal combustion engines.
e) Equip all internal combustion engine driven equipment with intake and exhaust
mufflers that are in good condition and appropriate for the equipment.
f) Locate stationary noise generating equipment as far as feasible from noise
sensitive receptors.
g) Designate a noise disturbance coordinator who would be responsible for
responding to any local complaints about construction noise. The disturbance
coordinator would determine the cause of the noise complaints (e.g., starting too
early, bad muffler, etc.) and institute reasonable measures to correct the problem.
h) Conspicuously post a telephone number for the disturbance coordinator at the
construction-site and with the City.
e) For a project located within an airport land use plan or,where such a plan has not been
adopted, within 2 miles of a public airport or public use airport, expose people residing or
working in the program area to excessive noise levels?
f) For a project within the vicinity of a private airstrip, expose people residing or working in
the program area to excessive noise levels?
No Impact. The project is not Iocated within an airport land use plan or within the vicinity of a
public airport or private airstrip. The San Carlos Airport, the closest airstrip to the project area,
is located approximately 3.5 miles northwest of the project site.Due to the distance from the
most proximate airstrip to the project area, the project would not expose the community to
excessive aircraft noise created by aircraft operations.
Il
La Palma Subdivision Project
Final Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration
52
