50 . An approved automatic fire sprinkler shall be provided throughout all <br /> buildings with a Group R fire area . (Group R-2 and R-3) <br /> 51 . Fire apparatus access roads shall have an unobstructed vertical clearance <br /> of not less than 13 feet 6 inches, and minimum width of 24 feet, design to <br /> support 52 ,000 pounds. <br /> 52 . All designated fire lanes shall be marked in accordance with Section <br /> 22500. 1 of the California Vehicle Code. <br /> 53 . The required fire flow at the minimum residual pressure of 20 psi shall be <br /> required . (Title 24, Part 9, CCR, Appendix B) <br /> 54 . The minimum number of fire hydrants and spacing requirements available <br /> to the building shall not be less than that listed in California Fire Code <br /> Appendix Chapters. <br /> 55 . 0n-site fire hydrants and mains shall be provided where a portion of a <br /> building is more than 400 feet from a hydrant on a fire apparatus access <br /> road , as measured by an approved route . ( IFC 508 .5 . 1 ) <br /> 56. AII valves controlling the water supply for automatic fire sprinkler systems <br /> and water flow switches on all fire sprinkler systems shall be electronically <br /> monitored . <br /> 57 . Single-or multiple-station smoke alarms and carbon monoxide alarms <br /> shall be installed and maintained in Groups R-2 and R-3 regardless of the <br /> occupant load at all of the following locations: <br /> a . On the ceiling or wall outside of each separate sleeping area in the <br /> immediate vicinity of bedrooms. <br /> b . In each room used for sleeping purposes . <br /> c. In each story within a dwelling unit. <br /> 58. Where more than one smoke alarm is required to be installed within an <br /> individual dwelling unit or sleeping unit in Groups R-2 and R-3 , the smoke <br /> alarms shall be interconnected in such a manner that the activation of one <br /> alarm will activate all of the alarms in the individual unit. <br /> 59.
