02/23/2015 <br /> Trains Police Officers on the proper packaging and submission of evidence; <br /> maintains detailed statistics on the number and type of evidence transactions; and <br /> records and produces daily statistics on the amount of money, drugs and other specific <br /> items in the custody of the Evidence Section. <br /> Conducts audits and inventories of evidence; arranges and documents interim releases <br /> and returns of evidence for court, laboratory analysis, and investigative use; monitors <br /> and controls expenditures. <br /> Attends training sessions on proper procedures for firearms safety, infectious <br /> disease control, hazardous materials awareness, occupational exposure to blood borne <br /> pathogens, evidence tracking and control systems, general forensic laboratory, <br /> and evidence collection, packaging and sealing. <br /> May assist with the collection, tagging, packaging and preservation of physical evidence <br /> including biological material at crime scenes. <br /> JOB RELATED AND ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS <br /> Knowledqe of: <br /> Legal guidelines pertaining to the maintenance and control of property and evidence. <br /> Evidence collection and processing using a variety of technical equipment, materials <br /> and processes; photographic methods and equipment as related to crime scene <br /> investigations and laboratory processing. <br /> Methods and techniques related to criminal identification and crime scene investigation. <br /> Principles of supervision and training. <br /> Principles and procedures of recordkeeping; records maintenance and inventory <br /> procedures. <br /> Safe working practices for receiving, storing, transporting, releasing, and disposing <br /> evidence such as weapons, ammunition, narcotics, samples of body fluids, and objects <br /> that have been contaminated with body fluids; methods used to store and secure <br /> evidence, supplies and equipment. <br /> Law enforcement computer systems and commonly used databases. <br /> Abilitv to: <br /> PerForm latent fingerprint examination, and qualify in court as a fingerprint expert. <br /> Schedule, organize and supervise the work of subordinates. <br /> ATTY/RES0.3058/CC RESO AMENDING CITIY CLASSIFICATION GIS TECHNICIAN RESO.#15394 <br /> REV:02-11-15 MLG MUFF#905 <br /> Page 8 of 10 <br />
