" The motion carried unanimously by voice vote, Councilman Henderson abstaining on the minutes of the Executive arNr Session of April 24. Retirement of Melvin I. Moen Director of Buildings and Transportation Mayor Weymouth read a resolution of recognition of the 23 years of service to the City of Melvin I. Moen, re- tiring Director of Buildings and Transportation. MOTION : Resolution having been read, Councilman Henderson introduced it and moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, its adoption: RESOLUTION NO. 7402 COMMENDING AND CONGRATULATING MELVIN I. MOEN ON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote . Mayor Weymouth then presented a framed copy of the reso- lution to Mr. Moen and offered him the best wishes of Council members for a long and rewarding retirement. „, Mr. Moen accepted the framed resolution, stating that it had been a pleasure to w ork for the City and its citizens during his career. Appointments to Boards and Commissions Councilman Henderson reported on Council interviews of applicants for appointment to the terms now commencing on the Park and Recreation Commission and the Civic Cultural Commission, noting the willingness of many talented citizens to serve the City. MOTION : Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- man Rhodes, that the following appointments be made for full four-year terms commencing immediately : Park and Recreation Commission Diane J.
