36O <br /> Mayor Weymouth then asked that Council attention be <br /> directed to consideration of the proposed Annual Budget <br /> for 1975-1976. <br /> For the benefit of the unexpectedly large audience, Mayor <br /> Weymouth requested Mr. Fales to describe briefly the de- , , <br /> partment programs and proposed budget in each case before <br /> Council consideration. Mayor Weymouth also advised that <br /> the Council will consider each program in the order pre- <br /> sented in the proposed Budget and asked those wishing <br /> to speak to the subject before Council to stand to be <br /> recognized and to state their names and addresses. <br /> City Council- Account No. 400 (pp 8-9) <br /> With regard to increased allocation for the subject <br /> account, City Manager Fales observed that the ability <br /> to make decisions at the municipal level is increas- <br /> ingly dependent upon the ability to influence regional, <br /> state and federal agencies. He suggested that Redwood <br /> City must play an active role in attempting to do so. <br /> In response to request, City Controller Ference advised <br /> he will provide information on the appropriations and <br /> amount actually spent for the subject Account for the <br /> past three years, along with break-downs of the expendi- <br /> tures. <br /> Mr. Ference provided a breakdown of the total amount <br /> recommended for the Account for 1975-1976. sow <br /> MOTION : Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman r«r <br /> Barrett, that with regard to the second paragraph of the <br /> "Specific Objectives and Comments" the following be added <br /> on page 9: '(5) review of GID No. 1-64 development and <br /> financial options with a. decision on future financial <br /> arrangements between district, developer and city. " <br /> The motion carried on the following roll call vote : <br /> Ayes : Councilmen Barrett, Leipzig, Norris, Rhodes <br /> Noes : Councilmen Henderson, Williams and Mayor <br /> Weymouth <br /> It was the consensus of Council to withhold approval of <br /> Account No. 400 pending receipt of the report requested <br /> from the City Controller (see above) . <br /> City Manager - Account No. 410 (pp 10-11) <br /> City Manager Fales advised that the position of Engi- <br /> neering Administrative Assistant in his office is pres- , <br /> ently vacant and it is not anticipated it will be filled <br /> immediately and eventually is expected to be filled by <br /> a position at a lower salary level.
