fal) <br /> In response t question, <br /> mailingCity <br /> andClerk <br /> postingHildebrand <br /> Chiefadvised <br /> that affidavits <br /> Building Official are on file in her office. <br /> City Attorney Schricker advised that it is permissible <br /> to hear testimony on both subject public nuisances at <br /> the same time, provided separate comment is made on <br /> each property. <br /> Chief Building Official Gyselbrecht, being duly sworn, <br /> rW <br /> presented photographs of the subject properties as <br /> evidence of the condition of the buildings requested <br /> to be demolished, and the photographs were made part <br /> of the official evidence of the hearing. <br /> Mr. Gyselbrecht advised that following notice to abate <br /> nuisance, the owners of the two properties, Leslie A. <br /> and Judy T. Alexander and Tyrell G. Barker, have ad- <br /> vised they have retained a demolition firm to raze the <br /> properties. The demolition firm offered assurance that <br /> they will do the job, but have not qualified to obtain <br /> a permit to do so, although it is anticipated they will <br /> qualify soon. Mr. Gyselbrecht advised that the buildings <br /> are vacant and have been subject to considerable vandalism, <br /> are in dangerous condition, and urged that the approxi- <br /> mately 35-year old detached single-family wood frame <br /> dwellings be demolished as they are dangerous to the <br /> public, unsafe, untenantable, a health hazard, a fire <br /> hazard and constitute a public nuisance . <br /> Mr. Gyselbrecht described the history of the buildings __ <br /> and the probable cost of demolition. <br /> In response to question, Mr. Gyselbrecht advised that <br /> although the owners have indicated an intention to de- <br /> molish the structures, he would prefer the Council to <br /> declare them a public nuisance at this time in order <br /> that there may be no <br /> observed that the o wners <br /> or telephone and took no action prior to action by the <br /> City to attempt to have the buildings declared a public <br /> nuisance. <br /> Judy Stewart, representing Mr. and Mrs. Heinrich, 1363 <br /> Oxford, being duly sworn, urged the adoption of the <br /> resolutions declaring both properties a public nuisance. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Norris, to close the public hearing. <br /> The public hearing was closed at 8 :03 p.m. <br /> { At the request of Mr. Schricker, the report of the City <br /> Manager dated May 8, 1975 was entered into the record. <br /> MOTION: Titles having been read, Councilman Barrett in- <br /> troduced the following resolutions and moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman Leipzig, their adoption: <br /> -3- <br /> i <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 5/12/75 <br />
