(continued) <br /> MOTION: Totle having been read, Councilman Norris <br /> introduced the following resolution and moved, ,,,,, <br /> seconded by Councilman Barrett, its adoption: mi <br /> RESOLUTION FINDING INAPPROPRIATE CERTAIN PRO- <br /> POSALS REGARDING DETERMINATION OF TAX RATE, <br /> AND OPPOSING ITS USE <br /> Comment was made criticizing the Town of Atherton <br /> for their presumptuousness in suggesting that <br /> local governments pledge to reduce tax rates to <br /> compensate for increases in property assessments <br /> and the great differences in family income between <br /> Atherton and Redwood City were observed as well as <br /> the history of lack of cooperation from Atherton <br /> in attempts to solve subregional problems. <br /> SUBSTITUTE MOTION: Councilman Norris, with the <br /> consent of his second, withdrew the proposed reso- <br /> lution and moved that the contents of the proposed <br /> resolution be placed in letter form and sent to <br /> all members of the Council of the Town of Atherton <br /> with copies sent to the County of San Mateo and <br /> the other cities in the County. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-98) <br /> 7. Letter from Land for People re Housing and Community <br /> Development Program <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by <br /> Councilman Barrett, that a copy of the report of <br /> the City Manager dated May 9, 1975 regarding letter <br /> dated April 29, 1975 from PROBE, PROBE Auxiliary <br /> and Land for People be sent to them and that copies <br /> of the report also be furnished to the League of <br /> Women Voters of South San Mateo County. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-99) <br /> Adjournment <br /> MOTION: Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Barrett, to adjourn to an executive session at 4:00 p.m. , <br /> Wednesday, May 14, 1975 in the Office of the City Manager <br /> for the purpose of considering personnel matters; to ad- <br /> journ to a Budget Study Session at 9:00 a.m. , Saturday, <br /> May 17, 1975 in the Community Activities Building; and <br /> to cancel the regular meeting of the City Council <br /> scheduled for May 19, 1975. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote. <br /> The Council adjourned at 10 :25 p.m. <br /> -11- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 5/12/75 <br /> . :..w- m- r . : <br />
