..38 4 <br /> City Manager - Account No., 570 (continued) <br /> Herb Hayner, 185 Woodsworth, advised that he had re- <br /> -del-Ted the newsletter only twice in all the years he <br /> had lived in Redwood City and at his suggestion, Mayor <br /> Weymouth called for a show of hands by the audience of <br /> those who have been receiving it. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Rhodes, that the City's quarterly newsletter be <br /> eliminated. <br /> The motion carried unanimously on roll call vote. <br /> Councilman Henderson noted that Council still had the <br /> option to continue publication of the Parks and Recrea- <br /> tion bulletin when that account is considered. <br /> Account No. 570 was approved as amended. <br /> Citizen complained regarding lack of news coverage of <br /> Council matters and meetings, and was advised to direct <br /> his concerns to the newspaper. It was further pointed <br /> out that the City does take a paid weekly advertisement <br /> in the Saturday editions and publishes a calendar of <br /> meetings on a monthly basis. <br /> (The Council recessed from 10 :00 to 10 :15 a.m. ) <br /> Larry Ewing, 2034 Goodwin Avenue, requested a review of •�s <br /> previous discussion, spoke of a 'bare bones" budget and <br /> suggested eliminating any positions possible. ItowKIN <br /> Citizen, suggested imposition of an admissions tax for <br /> Marine World. <br /> Albert Thomas, 1089 Eden Bower Lane, supported the sug- <br /> gestion for an admissions tax as a source of revenue. <br /> It was noted by Council that the matter of an admissions <br /> tax was discussed at the meeting of May 10, and referred <br /> to staff for recommendation and report back to Council. <br /> Mr. Teply, 731 Canyon Road, inquired regarding $137,000 <br /> for expansion of the Fair Oaks Community Center, and was <br /> advised that this item would be discussed during the <br /> } Capital Improvement budget session. <br /> Personnel Administration Account No. 461 (pp 34-36) <br /> City Manager Fales recalled that at the previous budget <br /> study meeting it had been indicated that the purpose of <br /> the second Personnel Analyst position was to facilitate <br /> adherence to Federal law regarding affirmative action. <br /> Funding would from the City ' s General Fund, due to ter- <br /> mination of previously available Federal funds. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes , to eliminate one Personnel Analyst position from <br /> the budget. <br /> -4- <br /> Buaget <br /> study <br /> Y17/75 <br /> _�,. .._. <br />
