Rhodes (no tape recording was made <br /> of the session) <br /> Adjourned Meeting <br /> The Council of the City of Redwood City met on this date <br /> in a Budget Study Session at 9:00 a.m. with Mayor Weymouth <br /> presiding. <br /> Roll Call <br /> Councilmen present : Barrett, Henderson, Leipzig, Norris, <br /> Rhodes, Williams and Mayor Weymouth <br /> Councilmen absent : None <br /> Officials and staff present : City Manager Fales, Assis- <br /> tant City Manager Smith, City Controller Ference, City <br /> Clerk Hildebrand and Director of Public Works Pusich, <br /> City Librarian Vollmayer, Parks and Recreation Director <br /> Weeks, Director of Buildings and Transportation Balsamo, <br /> Police Chief Bold, Fire Chief Keller <br /> wog• <br /> Proposed Annual Budget 1975-1976 <br /> woo <br /> Mayor Weymouth stated that the only subject before the <br /> Council today is the proposed Annual Budget for 1975- <br /> 1976. Mayor Weymouth announced that procedure will be <br /> for each item to be considered first in order presented <br /> in the proposed Budget by Council members . Following <br /> Council consideration, members of the audience will be <br /> permitted to comment through the chair. Mayor Weymouth <br /> advised that the study session is not a public hearing <br /> and that the public hearing is scheduled to be held <br /> June 16, 1975. <br /> Fire Chief —Account No. 530 (pp 50-52) <br /> City Manager reviewed a report to him from the Fire <br /> Chief concerning the condition and value of the street <br /> box fire alarm system, commenting on the large number of <br /> false alarms received from the boxes, and the change in <br /> insurance rate of the City from 3B to 4A which would re- <br /> sult in much higher insurance premiums if the box system <br /> were removed. Increased insurance cost for the City <br /> would be about $14,000 per year, and business and mm <br /> industry in the City would suffer correspondingly if the <br /> box alarm system were removed. Annual maintenance cost, Vadat <br /> including personnel installing radio boxes is $8,290 per <br /> year, and the system is presently valued at $518,000. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes, to approve Account No. 530 as submitted. <br /> 7Y <br /> Budget <br /> Study <br /> 5/31/75 <br />
