266
Consent Calendar (continued)
March 3, 1975 paycheck, assuming the ordinance is
approved at this time and adopted on January 27 in
accordance with usual procedure.
City Manager Fales referred to the memorandum addressed 0111,
to him and to Mayor Weymouth from Mr. Ference, dated
January 20, in response to the request of Local 715, Wad
SEIU to have a special retroactive salary check issued.
He observed that the cost to the City of granting the
request would be approximately $675.00 with no real
benefit to the employees who will receive a tax refund
in any case, if a refund is due .
Discussion followed and comment was made that the citi-
zens of Redwood City are entitled to have 30 days in
which to respond regarding the proposed adoption of an
ordinance, and it would be improper to infringe on that
right of the citizens unless a. clearcut emergency exists.
Mr. Schricker reported that he had advised Personnel
Director Brock that no legal emergency exists with re-
gard to the union employee request when the request was
submitted through usual channels some time ago.
The motion carried unanimously by roll call vote.
Executive Session
MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council-
man Barrett, to adjourn to an executive session for the
purpose of considering personnel matters.
The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
Mayor Weymouth advised that the Council will reconvene
solely for the purpose of adjourning.
The Council adjourned to executive session at 9:25 p.m.
Adjournment
MOTION: Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Council-
man Norris, to adjourn to an executive session at 8:00 a.m. ,
Friday, January 24, 1975 in the office of the City Manager
for the purpose of considering labor negotiations.
The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
The Council adjourned at 10 :38 p.m. to an executive
session to be held at 8 :00 a.m. , Friday, January 24,
1975 in the office of the City Manager.
New
JACQUELINE C. HILDEBRAND
City Clerk
-6-
Reg.Mtg.
1/20/75
