272 <br /> Report re Alternate 911 System Plans <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of January 22, <br /> 1975 attaching a study completed by the Police Department, <br /> dated January 9, regarding alternate 911 System plans. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Fales, Police Chief Bold <br /> and Police Department Administrative Assistant Stieger 6..00P <br /> replied to questions concerning City experience with <br /> emergency calls and the various alternatives available <br /> to the City concerning establishment of the State man- <br /> ; dated 911 System and the requirement that preliminary <br /> and tentative plans for compliance by each local govern- <br /> , ment agency be submitted by January 31, 1975. <br /> Councilman Rhodes, the City' s representative to the <br /> Greater Transportation Committee, commented concerning <br /> ► consideration of the 911 System by that Committee. <br /> MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council- <br /> ` man Barrett, that staff be directed to file the necessary <br /> documents for the 911 System with the State by the <br /> January 31, 1975 deadline in accordance with the recom- <br /> mendations of the City Manager contained in his report <br /> of January 22, 1975 on the subject. <br /> (Recommendation is as follows : <br /> ". . . installing a PSAP (Public Safety Answering <br /> Point) in the City' s communications center, and <br /> recommends 'Plan 2, Upgraded 911, ' as described <br /> on page 2 of the report (refers to report of <br /> January 9 to the City Manager from Police Depart- <br /> ment <br /> Administrative Assistant Stieger) ; and <br /> "It is further recommended that 'Plan 2, Upgraded <br /> 911' as described in the report, be approved by <br /> the Council for submittal to the State as Redwood <br /> City' s preliminary 911 program, by the January 31 <br /> deadline. " <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-21) <br /> Announcement - Joint Meeting of <br /> City Council and Planning Commission <br /> Councilman Henderson called attention to the invitation <br /> the City Council to meet with the Planning Commission <br /> and asked Council members their preference between the <br /> 1 dates suggested. <br /> It was decided that the joint meeting would take place <br /> wow <br /> on Saturday, February 1, 1975 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 Noon <br /> at the Community Activities Building.
