Mr.
Pusich advised that if the Traffic Engineer believes
the hazards cannot be corrected, the City can ask to
have the poles set back . Mr. Pusich advised further
that if the road were to be improved, then consideration
would automatically be given to removal of the poles
from their present location.
City Attorney Schricker asked that the Director of Public
Works transmit a copy of his report to the Pacific Gas
& Electric Company calling attention to the recognition
by the Traffic Engineer that the poles on Canyon Road
may create obstacles. (Memo 7/15/75)
In further response to question, Mr Pusich advised that
with regard to paragraph 7. on page 3 of his report,
that his office and the attorney ' s office are pursuing
the matter of unsafe conditions arising from heavy over-
growth of bushes with the property owner. Mr. Pusich
stated that the situation will be corrected .
Discussion followed concerning the extent to which traffic
safety is dependent upon responsible drivers; the impos-
sibility of preventing all accidents caused by reckless
driving, and the fact that many of the accidents on
certain roads involve only one vehicle whose speeding
or otherwise irresponsible driver ran into some station-
ary object.
The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote .
-4-
Reg.Mtg.
7/14/75
