The Pledge of Allegiance was led by Vice Mayor Williams . The Invocation was led by the Reverend Larry Walter, First Congregational Church. Roll Call Councilmen present : Barrett, Leipzig, Norris, Rhodes, Williams and Mayor Weymouth Councilmen absent : Henderson Officials and staff present : Assistant City Manager Smith, City Attorney Schricker, City Controller Ference , City Treasurer-Collector Drivon, City Clerk Hildebrand and Director of Public Works Pusich, Zoning Administrator Wesphal, Police Chief Bold Approval of Minutes MOTION: Councilman Rhodes moved, seconded by Councilman Barrett, to approve the Minutes of the July 21, 1975 meet- ing of the Council as a Board of Equalization, the Minutes of the City Council meeting of July 21, 1975 ; and the Minutes of the Executive Session of July 24, 1975 as submitted . The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . Administration of Oath of Office, Police Reserve Officers Mayor Weymouth asked Police Chief Bold to introduce the Police Reserve Officer Candidates . Chief Bold commented briefly on the history of the Redwood City Police Reserve force, observing that 1975 is the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the organization. Chief Bold advised that candidates volunteer for the train- ing program and buy their own equipment in order to par- ticipate in providing a complement to the regular police force, and remarked that the service of police reserve officers represents a high level of citizen involvement in the community.
