Consent Calendar <br /> Mayor Weymouth advised that he had been requested that <br /> certain items on the Consent Calendar be considered <br /> separately. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Rhodes, that with regard to the salary range proposed in <br /> the item relating to the establishment of the position of <br /> Community Development Coordinator that the range be re- <br /> duced to $1285-1745 from $1485-1945. <br /> Discussion followed and Assistant City Manager Smith <br /> commented and replied to questions concerning whether <br /> the program to be developed by the proposed Coordinator <br /> will be minimal for some time and not justify the pro- <br /> posed salary range; whether the establishment of the <br /> preliminary program is the most critical part of the <br /> program and that the most qualified person possible is <br /> required at that time; the desirability of obtaining a <br /> high level, well-qualified individual to establish the <br /> program; the salary ranges and lack of comparable data <br /> with regard to what might seem to be similar positions <br /> in other cities; the desirability of having the indi- <br /> vidual employed as Coordinator capable of follow-through <br /> on development of the program; and the importance of re- <br /> development to the City at this time. <br /> The motion failed on the following roll call vote : <br /> Ayes : Councilmen Norris, Rhodes <br /> Noes : Councilmen Barrett, Leipzig, Williams and <br /> Mayor Weymouth <br /> MOTION: Titles having been read, Vice Mayor Williams <br /> introduced the following resolutions and ordinances and <br /> moved, seconded by Councilman Norris, adoption of the <br /> resolutions and previously approved ordinances and <br /> approval of all other items : <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7459 APPROVING SPECIFICATIONS FOR <br /> POSITION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7460 AMENDING SECTIONS 14.2 AND 14.5 <br /> OF RULE II, AND SECTION 2 .2 OF RULE XII OF THE <br /> PERSONNEL RULES AND REGULATIONS OF THE CITY OF <br /> REDWOOD CITY, RELATING TO EMPLOYEE CLASSIFICATIONS <br /> AND OVERTIME EXCEPTIONS <br /> ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1 OF ORDINANCE NO. 1622, <br /> ESTABLISHING SALARY AND WAGE PLAN FOR CERTAIN EM- <br /> PLOYEE CLASSIFICATIONS RELATING TO MANAGEMENT AND <br /> CONFIDENTIAL ASSIGNMENTS, AND CERTAIN DESIGNATED <br /> OFFICERS; TO INCLUDE THE SALARY RATE FOR THE <br /> CLASSIFICATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7461 EXERCISING OPTION TO EXTEND <br /> LEASE OF REAL PROPERTY FOR PARK PURPOSES SITUATE ON <br /> HANCOCK STREET BETWEEN CHARTER AND WILLOW STREETS <br /> (LeBlanc mini-park) <br /> -4- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 8/4/75 <br />
