125 time in order that in-depth study might be undertaken; the desirability of retaining options with regard to possible construction of connecting roads with Bair Island and Foster City; the poor quality of the maps provided to Council; whether there would be any effect on the sale of bonds if a prospectus contained the old Plan with amendments adopted only as presently proposed; any effect on the bonds already sold based on the old prospectus containing the 1965 plan, if that plan were deleted; and the desirability of considering the Redwood Shores area as part of the total General Plan for the City rather than as a special area plan. (The Council recessed from 10 :10 to 10 :20 p.m. ) Mr. Schroeter referred to the posted colored maps de- picting the adopted General Plan and the proposed plan with revisions, compared major changes and commented on the factors which prompted the changes and the recommended revisions . At the request of Council, Mr. Schroeter agreed to improve the entire presentation to Council of the proposed revisions . MOTION : Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Council- man Leipzig, to continue the public hearing on the pro- posed revisions to the General Plan for Redwood Peninsula until September 8, 1975. Ron MacQuarrie, 558 Keelson Circle, asked that the public hearing be continued until September 15, 1975 in view of the forthcoming Labor Day and Admission Day Holidays which may prevent those interested from attending the hearing. CHANGE OF MOTION : Councilman Williams, with the consent of his second, changed his motion to continuing the public hearing until September 15, 1975. The motion a's changed carried unanimously by voice vote and the public hearing on the proposed revisions to the General Plan relating to the Redwood Shores area was continued until September 15, 1975. (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-158) Proposed 1975-76 Tax Rates City Manager Fales referred to his report of August 22, 1975 attaching a report from the City Controller, dated August 19, regarding proposed tax, rates. Mr. Fales noted that the recommended 1975-76 aggregate general tax rate is $1 .7325 per $100 of assessed valuation, representing a decrease of $0.2192 from the 1974-75 total tax rate of $1. 9517. MOTION : Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman Leipzig, that the tax rate be established as it was esti- mated at the budget study sessions and hearing at $1.7705 per $100 of assessed valuation, with the difference be- tween the amount raised by that figure and that raised by the recommended tax rate of $1.7325 (about $64, 500) being entered into the reserve fund of the City. -6- Reg.Mtg. 8/25/75
