125 <br /> time in order that in-depth study might be undertaken; <br /> the desirability of retaining options with regard to <br /> possible construction of connecting roads with Bair <br /> Island and Foster City; the poor quality of the maps <br /> provided to Council; whether there would be any effect <br /> on the sale of bonds if a prospectus contained the old <br /> Plan with amendments adopted only as presently proposed; <br /> any effect on the bonds already sold based on the old <br /> prospectus containing the 1965 plan, if that plan were <br /> deleted; and the desirability of considering the Redwood <br /> Shores area as part of the total General Plan for the <br /> City rather than as a special area plan. <br /> (The Council recessed from 10 :10 to 10 :20 p.m. ) <br /> Mr. Schroeter referred to the posted colored maps de- <br /> picting the adopted General Plan and the proposed plan <br /> with revisions, compared major changes and commented <br /> on the factors which prompted the changes and the <br /> recommended revisions . At the request of Council, Mr. <br /> Schroeter agreed to improve the entire presentation to <br /> Council of the proposed revisions . <br /> MOTION : Councilman Williams moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Leipzig, to continue the public hearing on the pro- <br /> posed revisions to the General Plan for Redwood Peninsula <br /> until September 8, 1975. <br /> Ron MacQuarrie, 558 Keelson Circle, asked that the public <br /> hearing be continued until September 15, 1975 in view of <br /> the forthcoming Labor Day and Admission Day Holidays <br /> which may prevent those interested from attending the <br /> hearing. <br /> CHANGE OF MOTION : Councilman Williams, with the consent <br /> of his second, changed his motion to continuing the public <br /> hearing until September 15, 1975. <br /> The motion a's changed carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> and the public hearing on the proposed revisions to the <br /> General Plan relating to the Redwood Shores area was <br /> continued until September 15, 1975. <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-158) <br /> Proposed 1975-76 Tax Rates <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of August 22, <br /> 1975 attaching a report from the City Controller, dated <br /> August 19, regarding proposed tax, rates. Mr. Fales noted <br /> that the recommended 1975-76 aggregate general tax rate <br /> is $1 .7325 per $100 of assessed valuation, representing <br /> a decrease of $0.2192 from the 1974-75 total tax rate of <br /> $1. 9517. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Barrett moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Leipzig, that the tax rate be established as it was esti- <br /> mated at the budget study sessions and hearing at $1.7705 <br /> per $100 of assessed valuation, with the difference be- <br /> tween the amount raised by that figure and that raised by <br /> the recommended tax rate of $1.7325 (about $64, 500) being <br /> entered into the reserve fund of the City. <br /> -6- <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 8/25/75 <br />
