Fales observed that now the General Plan and all of <br /> its adopted elements refer to the entire' city and not <br /> to a special area plan and commented on the _procedures <br /> involved in arriving at the proposed rev'isions. - <br /> Mayor Weymouth declared open at 9 :15 p.m. the public <br /> hearing the the proposed General Plan revisions for <br /> Redwood Peninsula. <br /> City Clerk Hildebrand reported the. Affidavit of Publica- <br /> tion of Notice of Hearing is on' file in the Clerk' s <br /> office and that no written -communications on ,the--subject <br /> were received . <br /> Planning Director Schroeter referred to colored maps of <br /> the Redwood Shores area illustrating -the adopted General <br /> Plan and the proposed plan with the recommended revisions, <br /> and observed that Planning Commission studies and , con- <br /> sideration of the recommended revisions had taken place <br /> over a three-year period. Mr. Schroeter pointed out that <br /> the proposed amendments do not include Bair Island, since <br /> development of that area is not known. <br /> Lengthy discussion followed and Mr. Schroeter and Mr. <br /> Fales commented and replied to questions concerning the <br /> disappointment of some Council members in being presented <br /> with the old Plan approved in 1965 and 1968, with amend- <br /> ments only for Part D; the outdated expectations with re- <br /> gard to future' development of the Redwood Shores area as <br /> contained in the old Plan; the fact that the proposed <br /> resolution appears to put the Council in the position of <br /> adopting the old Plan; the need for Planning Commission <br /> review to be of only certain sections of the Plan at this <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 8/25/75 <br /> • <br />
