The ordinance was approved unanimously by voice vote . (The Council recessed from 8 :50 to .9:00 p.m. ) - Public Hearing - General Plan Revisions for Redwood Peninsula (Redwood Shores area) - - City Manager Fales commented on the background of the consideration of the proposed General Plan revisions. In response to Council question as to whether the EIR prepared on the proposed Mobil Oil version of the re- vision of the General Plan is adequate and sufficient - at this time, Assistant City Attorney Maloney advised that the EIR is contained within the amendment to the General Plan being presented at this time in accordance, with the appropriate provisions of the Municipal Code . Mr . Fales observed that now the General Plan and all of its adopted elements refer to the entire' city and not to a special area plan and commented on the _procedures involved in arriving at the proposed rev'isions. - Mayor Weymouth declared open at 9 :15 p.m. the public hearing the the proposed General Plan revisions for Redwood Peninsula. City Clerk Hildebrand reported the. Affidavit of Publica- tion of Notice of Hearing is on' file in the Clerk' s office and that no written -communications on ,the--subject were received . Planning Director Schroeter referred to colored maps of the Redwood Shores area illustrating -the adopted General Plan and the proposed plan with the recommended revisions, and observed that Planning Commission studies and , con- sideration of the recommended revisions had taken place over a three-year period. Mr. Schroeter pointed out that the proposed amendments do not include Bair Island, since development of that area is not known. Lengthy discussion followed and Mr. Schroeter and Mr. Fales commented and replied to questions concerning the disappointment of some Council members in being presented with the old Plan approved in 1965 and 1968, with amend- ments only for Part D; the outdated expectations with re- gard to future' development of the Redwood Shores area as contained in the old Plan; the fact that the proposed resolution appears to put the Council in the position of adopting the old Plan; the need for Planning Commission review to be of only certain sections of the Plan at this Reg.Mtg. 8/25/75 •
