130 <br /> Oral Communications (continued) <br /> MOTION Councilman Henderson moved , seconded by <br /> Councilman Williams, that the City Council go on <br /> record in support of the Community Concern for <br /> Senior Citizens Program as outlined in the letter <br /> received by Council from Marjorie MacQuarrie and <br /> Lora Corner of August 20, 1975, with the Mayor to <br /> write to the AAUW indicating Council support. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-167) <br /> Board and Commission Vacancies <br /> There being no objection, Mayor Weymouth asked the City <br /> Clerk to inquire of recent applicants for vacancies <br /> which existed on the Planning Commission whether they <br /> would like to resubmit their applications for the exist- <br /> ing vacancy , observing that no interview will be necessary <br /> for such applicants since they were interviewed in <br /> June 1975. With regard to the vacancy existing on <br /> the Civic Cultural Commission, Mayor Weymouth asked <br /> the Clerk to continue to advertise since there are no <br /> applications on file for appointments to that Commis- <br /> sion. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Norris moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Barrett, to extend the deadline for filing of appli- <br /> cations, for the Planning and Civic Cultural Commissions <br /> to September 8, 1975 from August 29, leaving the ad- <br /> vertising of the vacancies to the discretion of the <br /> City Clerk. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-168) <br /> Adjournment - In Memory of William M. Werder <br /> Mayor Weymouth commented on the public service career <br /> of former County Supervisor and Redwood City Mayor <br /> William Werder, calling attention to his outstanding <br /> contributions to his community. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Williams read the following resolu- <br /> tion and moved , seconded by Councilman Leipzig, its <br /> adoption, and adjournment in memory of William M. Werder : <br /> 'RESOLUTION NO. 7478 COMMEMORATING THE MEMORY OF <br /> WILLIAM M. WERDER <br /> The resolution was adopted unanimously by roll call vote . <br /> The Council adjourned at 11 :47 p.m. <br /> (NOTE : The date of the next regular Council meeting <br /> falls on the Labor Day Holiday; therefore, the next <br /> City Council meeting will be held Monday, September 8, <br /> 1975) <br /> JACQUELINE C.
