X34 <br /> • <br /> Ron Soucy, 506 Sampson, urged that construction of a <br /> Senior 'Center be given the highest priority and recom- <br /> mended it: be located in the Community Park. <br /> MOTION : Councilman Leipzig moved, seconded by Council- <br /> man Barrett, that staff be instructed to prepare an <br /> ordinance` transferring funds from the 1975-76 Capital <br /> Improvement Fund reserve to the specific project for <br /> the purpose of conducting preliminary architectural, <br /> site and cost studies for a Senior Center. <br /> Discussion continued and Mr. Fales commented concerning <br /> the very nominal amount in the Capital Improvement Fund <br /> reserve and the need to maintain some reserve in order <br /> to meet unanticipated costs; the fact that the senior <br /> citizens are aware that no funds are available for con- <br /> struction- of a Center at this time, and the fact that <br /> the City has other projects planned for which no funds <br /> are presently available . <br /> CLARIFICATION : In response to request of City Manager <br /> Fales, Councilman Leipzig, with the consent of her <br /> second, stated that $12 ,000 is the amount to be trans- <br /> ferred for the preliminary work on the Center referred <br /> to in her motion. <br /> The motion carried unanimously by voice vote . <br /> (MINUTE ORDER NO. 75-169) <br /> (The Council recessed from 8 :20 to 8 :31 p .m. ) <br /> Police Patrol Boat <br /> City Manager Fales referred to his report of September 5, <br /> 1975 regarding the police patrol boat and attaching re- <br /> port of the Chief of Police, dated August 25. <br /> In response to Council question, Assistant City Attorney <br /> Maloney advised that the proposed agreement with the <br /> State of California Department of Navigation and Ocean <br /> Development has been reviewed by the Office of the City <br /> Attorney with concurs in the recommendation to approve <br /> the agreement. <br /> MOTION : Title having been read, Councilman Henderson <br /> introduced the following resolution and moved, seconded <br /> by Councilman Barrett, its adoption : <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 7479 APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXE- <br /> CUTION OF AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE CITY OF REDWOOD <br /> CITY AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA (DEPARTMENT OF <br /> NAVIGATION AND OCEAN DEVELOPMENT) RELATING TO THE <br /> OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF THE REDWOOD CITY <br /> PATROL BOAT <br /> Ron Soucy, 5o6 Sampson Street, asked how much the boat <br /> will cost Redwood City, whether another agreement for the <br /> State to replace the engines will be required in five <br /> years ; and how much police time is involved. Mr. Fales <br /> advised that there will be no change in the amount of <br /> police time involved; that the cost of maintenance and <br /> g -4- <br /> yl�/75g. <br />
