203 <br /> Adjournment <br /> Mayor Weymouth announced the birth of Adam Michael Barrett, son <br /> of Councilman and Mrs Barrett, and offered the Council ' s con- <br /> gratulations to Adam and his family <br /> MOTION Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Councilman <br /> Williams, to adjourn <br /> Bruce Cass, The Wine Company, 1629 Main Street, inquired as to <br /> the Council ' s action in continuing the public hearing on the <br /> appeal by Harry' s Hofbrau of the Planning Commission decision to <br /> grant a variance, stating he had observed the attorney he be- <br /> lieved handled the case in the audience earlier (see above) <br /> Mayor Weymouth explained that the Council had received a request <br /> in writing from Sidney L Berlin, attorney for the appellant, <br /> stating he could not be present tonight and requesting that the <br /> Public hearing be continued until November 24, 1975 Mayor <br /> Weymouth advised that such continuances are granted as a matter <br /> of courtesy <br /> City Attorney Schricker further advised that since the letter was <br /> from Mr Berlin, he evidently plans to represent his client at <br /> the public hearing, and the attorney from his office who was in <br /> the audience was apparently there in the capacity of observer <br /> Mr Schricker advised that it is not appropriate to discuss the <br /> matter at this time since the public hearing has been continued <br /> and the appellant is not represented <br /> In response to question of Mr Cass , Mayor Weymouth advised that <br /> if more than one continuance were requested by an appellant, it <br /> is unlikely it would be granted unless unusual circumstances Pre- <br /> vailed <br /> The motion to adjourn then carried unanimously by voice vote <br /> The Council adjourned at 7 55 p m <br /> JACQUELINE C HILDEBRAND <br /> City Clerk <br /> -4- <br /> Reg.Mtg <br /> 11/17/75 <br />
