2 8 7
edwood Peninsula
Mr. Schroeter advised in response to question that the
Environmental Impact Report for the General Plan was
certified last week, and that beforehand, each and
every element of the Plan had to have an environmental
40^- impact report. Therefore, most proposals in the future
can be handled under the General Plan and only in un-
r.o usual cases will a special EIR be necessary.
Mr. Schroeter responded to comments concerning prepara-
tion of environmental impact reports by staff versus
those prepared by consultants, and the comparative
costs and time involved. He indicated that after a
shaking down process, staff has become more able to
prepare EIR' s relatively quickly.
The general consensus was that the opportunity to meet.
and discuss various matters of concern was productive
for both the Council and Commission. It was suggested
that a regular schedule of such joint meetings should
be set up, possibly on a quarterly basis.
Prior to the next meeting, Mayor Weymouth urged the
Planning Commissioners to present any suggestions they
might have.
Adjournment
MOTION: Councilman Henderson moved, seconded by Council-
'-" man Leipzig, to adjourn to regular meeting at 7:30.p.m. ,
Monday, February 10, 1975 in the Board of Supervisors
bow Chambers.
The motion carried unanimously by voice vote.
The joint meeting adjourned at 6:00 p.m.
FRANCES I.
