Approval of special provisions, call for Report of City Manager 12/3/81 <br /> bids - El Camino Real Landscaping Project Report of Director of Public Works and <br /> Director of Parks and Recreation 11/18/81 <br /> Phil Singer, Singer and Hodges, landscape <br /> architect for the subject project, projected <br /> slides illustrating the proposed landscaping. <br /> Mr. Singer commented and replied to questions <br /> concerning details of the proposed <br /> landscaping, acknowledging that lawn is most <br /> attractive as ground cover, but that <br /> considerations related to the cost of long <br /> term maintenance, drainage problems, safety <br /> of personnel and the potential traffic delays <br /> and hazards during maintenance prompted him <br /> to recommend against its use on El Camino <br /> Real. <br /> Discussion followed concerning the desire of <br /> Council to have El Camino Real as attractive <br /> as possible; the unattractiveness of bark and <br /> the likelihood of its collecting waste <br /> oismi papers; and the possible use of a hardy <br /> ground cover to provide greenery with more <br /> acceptable maintenance cost. <br /> IOW <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL PROVISIONS FOR Title read.
