Mr. Clark said the
translation is "Children's Garden".
Assistant City Manager Smith advised that
Chestnut Park was not previously
officially named, but was simply
designated Chestnut Park because it is on
Chestnut Street, so no renaming is
involved.
Discussion followed concerning whether
difficulties in pronouncing the proposed
name might be encountered; the alternative
names suggested by the Fair Oaks Board;
the fact that the name is appropriate and
is apparently supported in the park
neighborhood; and the preference of
Council for the name also.
PER
M/S: Bury/Britschgi to accept the report
of the Park and Recreation Commission and
Nog
that the park known as "Chestnut Park" be
named "Jardin de Niiios".
Carried unanimously by voice vote.
MINUTE ORDER NO. 81-105
REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER
3.
