In <br /> response to further questions, he advised with regard to El Camino Real <br /> landscaping that Parks and Recreation is engaging a consulting firm to <br /> start design; that the work should be completed by the end of the year. <br /> He indicated that delays at Whipple Avenue are causing some backup of <br /> traffic, but that they propose to install two left turn lanes eastbound <br /> which should alleviate the problem. <br /> Council noted that San Carlos has decided against installing a left-turn <br /> lane southbound on Industrial at the Holly Street intersection, which <br /> they had been contemplating. <br /> The problem of shopping carts littering the entire community was raised <br /> by Council , and Mr. Fales reported that he is aware of two firms who <br /> contract with the stores to pick up the carts and return them to the <br /> stores. <br /> FISCAL OUTLOOK - 1981/82 FISCAL YEAR <br /> (Report by Director of Finance 2/19/81) <br /> Mr. Ference commented and replied to questions relating to his report, <br /> and noted that slowing of the economy is reflected in the Sales Tax <br /> receipts which have decreased partially due to decline in automobile <br /> sales and reduction in gasoline use; that he sees very little to indi- <br /> cate an improvement for next year; that under Revenue from Other <br /> Adj.Mtg. <br /> 2/21/81 <br /> Page 8 <br />
