Public Hearing - Appeal from the denial Appeal letter from Guthrie & Guthrie 1/27/81 <br /> of the Zoning Administrator of applica- Planning Commission record transmitted by 004 <br /> tion for Planned Development Permit to Planning Director 3/4/81 <br /> allow conversion of seven-unit apart- <br /> ment building into condominium ownership Mayor Biagi declared open 7:33 p.m. woo <br /> 1567 Regent Street - Walter Reed, <br /> appellant Affidavits of Publication of Notice of Hearing <br /> and of Mailing reported on file. <br /> Paula Guthrie, attorney representing the <br /> appellant, referred to the appeal letter 'and <br /> offered to reply to questions from Council. <br /> Walter Reed, appellant, also offered to reply <br /> to questions. <br /> Mayor Biagi pointed out that the matter before <br /> 1 Council is an appeal of denial of an applica- <br /> tion for a Planned Development Permit (PDP) <br /> and not the question of whether or not to <br /> allow a condominium conversion. <br /> In response to questions, Mr. Reed acknowl- <br /> edged that the very long driveway to parking <br /> spaces at the rear of the property presents <br /> problems, but suggested that if all spaces <br /> were not occupied, it would be less difficult; <br /> advised that there will be a staircase to the <br /> proposed sundeck so that users will not have <br /> to walk in the driveway; and noted that the <br /> driveway is not common area, but a rooftop <br /> sundeck on top of the carport is counted as <br /> open space. <br /> In response to question, Planning Director <br /> Schroeter advised that if the carport roof is <br /> converted to usable open space and a fence is it, <br /> moved, the appellant believes he can qualify <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 3/9/81 <br /> I <br />
