Public Hearing - Planning Commission recom- Planning Commission records transmitted <br /> mendation to amend the General Plan from 12/24/80 <br /> "Open Space" to "Low Density Residential" (See also letters entered into record noted <br /> .A., for property located at 205 Harbor Boule- below) <br /> yard, "TP" (Tidal Plain) District <br /> City Manager Fales stated that the City <br /> 2. Public Hearing - Application to amend the Attorney advised Items 1. and 2. may be <br /> Zoning Map to rezone property from "TP" considered concurrently. <br /> (Tidal Plain) District to "R-1" <br /> (Residential - Single Family) District, Mayor Biagi declared open 7:32 p.m. <br /> 205 Harbor Boulevard - Piombo Corporation, Affidavits of Publication of Notice of Hearing <br /> applicant and of Mailing reported on file. <br /> Bernard Andres, Project Manager for Piombo <br /> Corporation, Danville, stated that Piombo owns <br /> the subject land and described the background <br /> relating to the Floating Homes Marina Planned <br /> Development and commented concerning the re- <br /> sponses of the Corps of Engineers, the Planning <br /> Commission and nearby industry. Mr. Andres <br /> suggested that the concern of industry that <br /> prospective homeowners might eventually object <br /> to the noise and activity and attempt to have <br /> them removed is unnecessary, since those <br /> moving into the homes would be aware the in- <br /> dustry was already there. He suggested the <br /> property is not suited for port-oriented use <br /> because the water is too shallow; that the <br /> water surface would be increased; that birds <br /> and other wildlife can be expected to increase; <br /> and that heavy industry and residential use of <br /> adjacent properties can be harmonious, ob- <br /> serving that the development would enhance <br /> the Port and improve the environment. <br /> prime <br /> In response to question, Mr. Andres said that <br /> possible cost to the City of the project had <br /> Reg.Mtg. <br /> 1/12/81 <br />
