Presentation by San Mateo County Arts Report of City Manager 3/19/81
Council of Cultural Future Plan San Mateo County Arts Council Plan 3/10/81
Susan Swope, member of the Civic Cultural Com-
mission and Vice President of the San Mateo
County Arts Council, advised that the Commis-
sion has not considered the Plan because of
the time constraints imposed by the Arts
Council which were dictated by the State re-
quirements for a grant. Ms. Swope reported
that three Commission members have seen the
Plan and believe it is going in the right
direction, but that it is not complete. In
response to questions, she advised that the
Council must obtain the approval of half of the
population of the County and of half the cities
in order to obtain a $12,000 grant to cqntinue
planning and make the Council eligible for
other matching grants for programs within the
County. Ms. Swope suggested Council might
approve the Plan on a contingency basis.
In response to question, City Attorney
Schricker advised that tentative approval of
•
the Plan is possible.
Title read.
