Report of Senior Citizens Advisory Senior Center Service Plan 3/23/81 <br /> 3 <br /> Committee re Senior Center Service <br /> Program Tom Jordan, Chairman, Senior Citizens Advisory <br /> Committee, presented the Committee report on <br /> the Senior Center Service Plan. In response <br /> to questions, Mr. Jordan mentioned the need to <br /> involve seniors in the program planning if the <br /> programs are to be successful and meet their <br /> needs. <br /> Discussion followed and Mr. Jordan consented <br /> • and replied to questions regarding service <br /> areas; the need for clarification of City re- <br /> sponsibility; the fact that the City cannot <br /> fund the entire Center alone; the proposed <br /> move of the Information and Referral Center <br /> to the Veterans Building from across the <br /> street from City Hall so that it is more <br /> centrally located for those it serves; and the <br /> fact that the Plan is a concept around which <br /> the City can work in the future. <br /> M/S: Leipzig/Bury to accept the Senior Center <br /> Service Plan, dated March 23, 1981 prepared by <br /> the Senior Citizens Advisory Committee and to <br /> refer it to forthcoming 1981-82 Budget Study <br /> Sessions for consideration. <br /> Carried unanimously by voice vote. <br /> MINUTE ORDER NO. 81-42 <br /> Council members commended the Committee and <br /> staff for the excellent report, pointing out <br /> it can be used as reference material in the <br /> future. wiwei <br /> Zuma Francis, 1138 Madison, reported a <br /> favorable experience she had had when she <br /> called upon the Information and Referral <br /> Service for assistance. <br /> REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER REPORTS OF CITY MANAGER <br /> 3. El Camino Real Landscaping Project - Pro- Report of City Manager 3/18/81 <br /> fessional Services Agreement for Plans and Report of Director of Parks and Recreation and <br /> Specifications (Singer and Hodges) Director of Public Works 3/11/81 <br /> In response to question, City Manager Fales <br /> advised that the City has reason to believe <br /> CalTrans will approve the traffic improvements <br /> to El Camino Real and that it is desirable to <br /> start the landscape design process now in <br /> order to avoid loss of time and money later. <br /> Mr. Fales noted that if approval is not forth- <br /> coming, it is possible to withdraw from the <br /> • proposed contract. <br /> RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING EXECU- Title read.
