City
Clerk Hildebrand also reported that some 350
notices have been mailed to property owners
and businessmen in the affected area.
Attention was called to the fact that the maw
Planning Commission was charged by Council to
deal with matters of long range planning and
that the proposed Plan was prepared in re-
sponse to that direction. Planning Director
Schroeter advised that there is a plan for
El Camino Real in the Comprehensive General
Plan, but that the Corridor Plan is a con-
ceptual plan in more detail showing how the
General Plan could be implemented, being an
elaboration of the existing General Plan.
In response to question, Mr. Schroeter stated
that height limits as such are not spelled out
but have to do with bulk building size and lot
coverage so that heights would vary.
Mayor Biagi requested speakers to limit their
remarks to three minutes each and to avoid
repetition.
Kingsford Jones, attorney for John F. Malloy,
1330 El Camino Real (Abbey Rents), said his
client is concerned because his property is
designated as eventual open space, stating he
believes such designation is unfair and will
create a negative effect on the value of the
property. Mr. Jones urged that the Plan not
be approved.
Bruno Mantelli, Country Manor Interiors, 2426
El Camino Real, stated he agrees with the con-
ceptual Plan. Mr. Mantelli suggested the more
immediate problem is keeping El Camino clean mo.
Reg.Mtg.
9/8/80
Page 2
