(continued) list of prospective guests for a party at the <br /> shopping center, noting that she has not asked <br /> the City Attorney whether it is necessary for <br /> her to abstain. <br /> M/S: Chandler/Britschgi not to authorize the <br /> issuance of a revocable permit for a direc- <br /> tional sign on City property for Peninsula <br /> Boardwalk. <br /> Discussion continued and City Manager Fales <br /> replied to questions with regard to the fact <br /> that Council has previously indicated that a <br /> directional sign could be located on City <br /> property subject to a revocable permit being <br /> issued and the fact that if the proposed sign <br /> is not approved, the applicant would not have <br /> to wait before submitting another. <br /> The motion failed on the following tie roll <br /> call vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmen Britschgi, Bury, Chandler <br /> Noes: Councilman Rhodes, Vice Mayor Stangel <br /> and Mayor Biagi <br /> Abstain: Councilman Leipzig <br /> Councilman Leipzig advised that her only con- <br /> nection with Peninsula Boardwalk is that she <br /> has been asked to provide a list of names of <br /> civic leaders to be invited to a welcoming <br /> party at the shopping center and that she is <br /> not being paid to do so. Councilman Leipzig <br /> asked Assistant City Attorney Maloney whether <br /> she should abstain from voting on the subject <br /> matter. Mr. Maloney advised that she is <br /> eligible to vote. <br /> M/S: Rhodes/Stangel to authorize issuance of di- <br /> rectional sign permit to Peninsula Boardwalk. <br /> The motion carried on the following roll call <br /> vote: <br /> Ayes: Councilmen Leipzig, Rhodes, Vice Mayor <br /> Stangel and Mayor Biagi <br /> Noes: Councilmen Britschgi, Bury, Chandler <br /> WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS <br /> 16.
